A Resolution endorsing the Vision Zero initiative; requiring each Dept. and Div. within LFUCG to assess their role in traffic safety and identify strategies under their purview in an effort to reduce and eventually eliminate traffic related fatalities and serious injuries and to collaborate with all relevant agencies, divisions, stakeholders, subject matter experts and the public to identify and implement projects, programs, strategies and policies that will be effective in accomplishing this goal; and requiring that within twelve months from passage of this Resolution, and every twelve months thereafter, the LFUCG Dept. of Planning and Preservation prepare a report on the needs and progress of achieving Vision Zero goals. WHEREAS, it is the goal of the LFUCG to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all of Lexington's residents and visitors; and
WHEREAS, LFUCG believes that no one should die or suffer serious injury while traveling on Lexington's streets and highways including people of all ages and abilities using all modes of travel; and
