Summary
Authorization to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Department of Veterans Affair and the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government. The purpose of this MOU would be to allow the staff at the Training Academy to enter recruits into the VA online educational benefits system as a VA accredited training academy. This would allow eligible recruits to receive financial benefits from the GI Bill for performing on the job training. No Budgetary impact. (L0886-21) (Weathers/Armstrong)

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute the Memorandum of Understanding, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, with Department of Veterans Affair, for entrance into the VA online educational benefits system.
Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
