Summary
Authorization to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. (dba Baptist Health Lexington) to participate in the drug discount program, pursuant to Section 340B of the Public Health Services Act. In order to participate in the 340B Program, Baptist Health must maintain an Agreement with a unit of government. Baptist Health commits to provide health care services to low income individuals who are not entitled to Medicare or Medicaid benefits, at no reimbursement or considerably less than full reimbursement from these patients. In 2019, this commitment totaled approximately $9,000,000 in discounts for services and charity care. No Budgetary impact. (L0793-20) (Ford)
