A Resolution authorizing and directing the Mayor, on behalf of the Urban County Government, to execute and submit a Coronavirus Relief Fund Application(s) for reimbursement of certain eligible expenses to the Dept. for Local Government, to execute a Memorandum of Agreement, to provide any additional information or documentation required, to act as the authorized correspondent for reimbursement, and to take any other necessary related action. WHEREAS, the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government is eligible to receive certain Coronavirus Relief Funding from the Commonwealth of Kentucky under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act ("CARES Act"), and desires reimbursement for any eligible expenses incurred due to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 ("COVID-19") public health emergency; and
WHEREAS, in order to obtain the funding the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government is required to comply with certain obligations and responsibilities, including the approval of a satisfactory application for funding by the Department for Local Governments and compliance with the requirements placed on the government related to receipt and expenditure of the funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to: (a) execute and submit a Coronavirus Relief Fund Application(s), in substantially the same form as the attached, to the Department for Local Government, (b) execute a corresponding Memorandum of Agreement related to the funding, (c) provide any additional information or documentation required, (d) act as the authorized correspondent for reimbursement, and (e) take any other necessary related actions.
Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
