A Resolution approving and directing the permanent barricading of Ivy Bridge Dr. at its southern terminus and waiving the procedures set forth in Resolution 339-81. [Council Office, Maynard]

Body

WHEREAS, the neighborhood of Hartland Gardens has petitioned the Urban County Government to barricade Ivy Bridge Drive, a small residential street, at its southern terminus in order to protect the character thereof; and,

                     WHEREAS, connecting Ivy Bridge Drive to another street or road would likely increase traffic congestion thereon and endanger the safety and welfare of the residents of Ivy Bridge Drive;

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:

                     Section 1 - That the Council agrees to waive the procedure for acting upon requests to barricade or dead end a public street as set forth in Resolution No. 339-81.

                     Section 2 -That the Urban County Government, Division of Streets and Roads, shall take all steps necessary to erect a permanent barricade at the southern terminus of Ivy Bridge Drive.

                     Section 3 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.

                     PASSED URBAN COUNTY COUNCIL:
