Summary

Authorization to abolish twenty (20) classified positions of Heavy Equipment Technician (Grade 516N), create twenty (20) classified positions of Heavy Equipment Technician (Grade 518N) and reallocate the incumbents in the Division of Facilities & Fleet Management. This action is also requesting authorization to abolish three (3) classified positions of Heavy Equipment Technician (Grade 516N), create three (3) classified positions of Heavy Equipment Technician (Grade 518N) and reallocate the incumbents in the Division of Fire & Emergency Services. Additionally, in an accordance with Section 21-27 (e) of the Code of Ordinances, we are requesting a 5% supplement for those employees in the Division of Facilities and Fleet Management (Fleet Operations) who earn and maintain a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Inspector certification, effective the beginning of next pay period following passage of Council.                      BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:

                     Section 1 - That the following subsection line number in the Classified Civil Service Authorized Strength be and hereby are amended to read as follows:

                     570.030                     3                                           623                     518N                                          Heavy Equipment Technician                     

                     720.053                     20                                          623                     518N                                          Heavy Equipment Technician

                     Section 2 - That employees in the Division of Facilities and Fleet Management who earn and maintain a Compressed National Gas (CNG) Inspector certification shall receive a five percent (5%) supplement pursuant to Section 21-27(e) of the Code of Ordinances.

                     Section 3 - That this Ordinance shall be effective the beginning of the pay period following passage of Council.
