Summary
Authorization to accept a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Bluegrass.org (Bluegrass). This is a renewal of an existing Agreement. The purpose of this MOU is the commitment of both parties to the prevention of harm to self and others in compliance with applicable KY law, Federal law and Bluegrass professional ethical standards for law enforcement officials to be reasonably able to prevent or lessen a serious and imminent threat to the health or safety of an individual or the public. In addition to response services, this partnership also includes the training and education of Lexington Police Officers in the area of Crisis Intervention by Bluegrass.org. The Lexington Police Department will pay Bluegrass.org $1,000 per training class of Lexington Police Department personnel for the enrollment in Crisis Intervention Training. Funds are Budgeted. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute the Memorandum of Understanding, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, with Bluegrass.org, for training and education of officers.
Section 2 - That an amount, not to exceed the sum of $1,000.00 per training class, be and hereby is approved for payment to Bluegrass.org, from account #1101-505507-71299, pursuant to the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding.
Section 3 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
