Summary

 

Authorization to submit application requesting funds in the amount of $130,000.00 to the Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet under the Law Enforcement Service Fee Grant Program and accept award if offered for operation of a Traffic Alcohol for Fiscal Year 2017.  If approved, these funds will be used to support costs of approximately 3,500 Police officer overtime hours for a Traffic Alcohol Patrol.  If awarded, the cost in Fiscal Year 2017 will be $130,000.00 for overtime expenses.  No local match required.  Costs in future Budget years are dependent upon availability of grant funds.                      BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:

                     Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute and submit a Grant Application, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, to the Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet, and to provide any additional information requested in connection with this Grant Application, and to accept this Grant if the application is approved, which Grant funds are in the amount of $130,000.00 Commonwealth of Kentucky funds from the Law Enforcement Service Fee Grant Program, for the support of the cost of Police overtime hours for a Traffic Alcohol Patrol, the acceptance of which does not obligate the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government for the expenditure of funds.

                     Section 2 - That subject to the provisions of Ordinance No. 22-79, the Mayor is hereby authorized, in his discretion as Chief Executive Officer of the Urban County Government, to transfer the unencumbered balance of any operating or capital account appropriation to another operating or capital account appropriation within the Grant Budget established herein.

                     Section 3 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
