Summary
Authorization to designate Federal Signal/Capital Electronics as a sole source vendor for the emergency outdoor warning siren system. We currently have a total of 27 sirens with nine (9) of the existing sirens that need to be upgraded. Five (5) sirens are budgeted to be upgraded in fiscal year 2016 and one (1) siren is scheduled to be installed. The upgraded siren locations are Cardinal Run, Coolavin, Pleasant Ridge, UK and Castlewood Parks. The new installation will be at Picadome. The cost of this project is $90,000. Funds are budgeted. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Division of Emergency Management/911, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized to purchase upgraded outdoor warning sirens from Federal Signal/Capital Electronics, a sole source provider.
Section 2 - That an amount, not to exceed the sum of $90,000.00, be and hereby is approved for payment to Federal Signal/Capital Electronics from account #2606-505204-96703, pursuant to the terms of the purchase requisition.
