Summary
Authorization to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bluegrass Drug WTOC Task Force and the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government. The purpose of this MOU is to delineate the responsibilities of the Bluegrass Drug WTOC Task Force, Transnational Organized Crime Western Hemisphere Task Force (WTOCTF) personnel; formalize relationships between participating agencies for policy guidance, planning, training, public and media relations; and maximize inter-agency cooperation. The mission of the WTOCTF is to identify and target for prosecution Transnational Criminal Organizations engaged in diverse criminal schemes involving a myriad of federal violations both within the United States and throughout the Western Hemisphere. Violations include, but are not limited to, drug trafficking, money laundering, human trafficking, alien smuggling, homicide, extortion, kidnapping weapons trafficking, theft of natural resources and cultural property, public corruption, insurance fraud, and health care fraud.
