A Resolution authorizing and directing the Mayor, on behalf of the Urban County Government, and at the express request of the Urban County Council, to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with Progress Lex, Inc. d/b/a
CivicLex, for the comprehensive evaluation of the Urban County Council's processes for public comment, at no cost to the Urban County Government. [Council Office, Maynard]
Body
WHEREAS, the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council is always seeking to improve public engagement and public input into the activities of the Government; and
WHEREAS,
CivicLex is a non-profit civic education organization that focuses on helping residents understand and become involved in the issues, policies, and procedures that impact Lexington-Fayette County; and
WHEREAS,
CivicLex is interested in providing pro bono services to the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council to improve its processes for (non-pandemic) public comment.
WHEREAS, the Urban County Council desires to work with
CivicLex to improve its processes for (non-pandemic) public comments for work sessions; committee meetings; and Council meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, and at the express request of the Urban County Council, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute the Memorandum of Understanding, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, with Progress Lex, Inc. d/b/a
CivicLex, for the comprehensive evaluation of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council's processes for public comment, at no cost to the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government.
Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
