Summary
Authorization to ratify the Reapportionment Committee's report laying out the boundaries of the revised districts for Fayette County Commissioners (Fiscal Court), Magistrates (Justices of the Peace) and Constables. WHEREAS, KRS 67.045 establishes procedures to be followed in reapportionment proceedings for the offices of Fiscal Court Commissioner, Justice of the Peace (Magistrate), and Constable; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to KRS 67.045 and 67.712(2), Reapportionment Commissioners were appointed to lay off the boundary lines of the said districts; and
WHEREAS, the report of the Reapportionment Commissioners has been made to the Fayette Fiscal Court, and the Fayette Fiscal Court approved the same at its July 3, 2023, special meeting;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That pursuant to KRS 67.045 and 67.712(2), the districts of the three Fiscal Court Commissioners, three Justices of the Peace (Magistrates), and three Constables shall be as described in the report of the Reapportionment Commissioners, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2 - That the preamble to this Ordinance be and the same is incorporated herein as if set out in full.
Section 3 - That this Ordinance shall become effective on the date of its passage.
