An Ordinance pursuant to Section 6.12 of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Charter renaming the Office of Chief Information Officer to the Dept. of Information Technology, effective upon passage of Council. [Council Office, Maynard]

WHEREAS, Section 6.12 of the Charter of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government provides that the Council shall have the power to "consolidate, divide, and otherwise restructure the organization of all departments, offices and divisions covered by Article 6 of the Charter;" and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that effective and efficient operation of government will occur by renaming the Office of Chief Information Officer to the Department of Information Technology.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the name of the Office of Chief Information Officer is hereby changed to the Department of Information Technology.
Section 2 - That this Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon passage of Council.
