Authorization to approve a Memorandum of Understanding between the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department and the Division of Community Corrections to implement a jail education program In an effort to reduce the morbidity and mortality related to Opioid Use Disorder and overdose in the Fayette County area, the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department will partner with the Lexington-Fayette County Community Corrections to provide on-site naloxone education and distribution in conjunction with additional harm reduction education. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute the Memorandum of Understanding, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, with the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department, for the implementation of a jail education program, at no cost to the Urban County Government.
Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
