Summary
Authorization for the Mayor to execute a Memorandum of Understanding between LFUCG and the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department to provide substance abuse referrals during the Needle Exchange Program. This MOU will provide substance abuse treatment referrals by the Department of Social Services’ Substance Abuse and Violence Prevention (SAVI) Program for those who utilize the Needle Exchange Program and are seeking substance abuse treatment services for addiction. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute the Memorandum of Understanding, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, with Lexington-Fayette County Health Department, for provision substance abuse treatment referrals during the Needle Exchange Program operation hours, at no cost to the Urban County Government.
Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
