WHEREAS, Legacy Business Park is a 200 acre site located at 2850 Georgetown Road and 1490 Bull Lea Road, and is owned by the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government (LFUCG) and managed by the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Industrial Authority; and
WHEREAS, the LFUCG continues to seek funding to develop the required infrastructure for Legacy Business Park to support economic development and job creation in Lexington; and
WHEREAS, the Office of United States Representative Andy Barr has indicated that there May be federal funding available for Community Projects such as site design, infrastructure improvements, and site preparation for business park projects; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Legacy Business Park project is expected to create more than 2,000 jobs, and generate approximately $96 million in wages, $6 million in state tax revenues, and $6 million in local tax revenues; and
WHEREAS, the proposed project would be an ideal local use of federal Community Projects funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the above recitals are incorporated herein as if fully stated.
Section 2 - That the Council of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government hereby expresses its support for the site design, infrastructure improvements, and site preparation of Legacy Business Park, and further supports the submission of this project to the Office of United States Representative An...
