WHEREAS, the Urban County Council has promoted the safety, health, economic vitality and quality of life for all residents and visitors regardless of their mobility choice; and,

                     WHEREAS, the Complete Streets Policy formalizes a commitment to integrate a complete streets approach into our transportation practices, policies and decision-making processes; and

                     WHEREAS, the Complete Streets Policy outlines further actions to plan, design, build and maintain a multi-modal transportation system that comfortably accommodates users of all ages, abilities and modes of transportation.

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:

                     Section 1 - That the Urban County Council and hereby adopts the Complete Streets Policy, which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference, to formalize a commitment to integrate a complete streets approach into our transportation practices, policies and decision-making processes.

                     Section 2 - That the Urban County Government is hereby authorized and encouraged to develop and implement any necessary procedures consistent with this Policy.                       

                     Section 3 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
