Summary
Authorization of the Federal Equitable Sharing Agreement and Certification with the Department of Justice, the Department of the Treasury. This Agreement sets forth the requirements for participation in the federal equitable sharing program and the restrictions upon the use of federally forfeited cash, property, proceeds, and any interest, which are equitably shared with participating law enforcement agencies. This Agreement also requires the submission of any discrimination cases involving the Lexington Police Department, which has been submitted by the Department of Law. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute the Federal Equitable Sharing Agreement and Certification, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, with Department of Justice, the Department of the Treasury, for receiving equitably shared cash, property, or proceeds.
Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
