Summary
Authorization to execute a Memorandum of Understanding between the Family Care Center and Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky. In partnership with Fayette County Schools, the Family Care Center operates a Parent Education Program for parenting and expectant teen moms. This MOU will provide parental education designed to reduce repeat pregnancy rates among Family Care Center students. 45 FCC students will be provided ten hours of age-appropriate, medically accurate, comprehensive education taught by professional educational facilitators. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute the Memorandum of Understanding, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, with Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky, for the provision of a Parent Education Program for 45 students of the Family Care Center who are current and/or expectant teen mothers, at no cost to the Urban County Government.
Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
