This is a request to execute a Compliance and Auditing Agreement and a Business Associate Agreement with Medical Compliance Services, Inc. due to upcoming changes in federal laws that govern medical billing rules in regards to Medicare/Medicaid and HIPAA. The cost for the Compliance and Auditing Agreement is $7,200 and there is no cost for the Business Associate Agreement. Funds are budgeted.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized to execute agreements with Medical Compliance Services, which are attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, for compliance and auditing services related to HIPAA, for the Division of Fire and Emergency Services.
Section 2 - That an amount, not to exceed the sum of $7,200.00, be and hereby is approved for payment to Medical Compliance Services, from account #1101-505701-71299.
Section 3 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
