Summary
Authorization to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with Seedleaf to reduce food waste material that is sent to the landfill by the citizens of Fayette County. This program will help achieve the goal of zero waste and provide educational opportunities in composting and other alternatives related to organics diversion. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute the Memorandum of Understanding, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, with Seedleaf, for reduction of food waste material at the landfill.
Section 2 - That an amount, not to exceed the sum of $20,000.00, be and hereby is approved for payment to Seedleaf, from account # 1115-303506-71299, pursuant to the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding.
Section 3 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
