Summary
Authorization to execute contract with New Life Day Center to operate a Rental/Deposit Assistance program for people experiencing homelessness. Project will pay deposit and first month's rent for up to 10 people experiencing homelessness who have income to pay ongoing rent. This is seed funding for what will ultimately be a privately supported program. This project was reviewed and approved by the Homelessness Prevention & Intervention Board. The cost is $10,000.00. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute the contract, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, with New Life Day Center (NLDC), for the operation of the NLDC Housing Scholarship Program providing for Rental/Deposit Assistance for individuals experiencing homelessness.
Section 2 - That an amount, not to exceed the sum of $10,000.00, be and hereby is approved for payment to New Life Day Center, from account # 1145 - 155003 - 78112, pursuant to the terms of the contract.
