NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That Section 9-13, of the Code of Ordinances of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government be and hereby is amended to read as follows:
Section 9-13. Same - Closing of buildings, premises and public thoroughfares.

The fire chief, under the direction of the Mayor, is authorized to close buildings, premises, and public thoroughfares, especially theaters, nightclubs, bars, schools, hotels and office buildings, by padlocking such place of by placing a notice, "Closed to the Public by Order of the Fire Chief" on the entrance doors, immediately upon the expiration of time given in writing to correct any designated fire hazard, or immediately upon the discovery of any condition where there is such imminent peril to life or property that delay in giving notice or issuing an "Order to Remedy" will be reasonably calculated to increase the chances of loss of life or property or endanger the safety of the occupants of such premises.

Section 2 - That this Ordinance shall become effective on the date of its passage.
