Summary
Authorization to accept Ownership of the late Councilmember "Jake" Gibbs Memorial Plaque. The Downtown Lexington Management District is purchasing and installing a plaque to commemorate the life and service of the late Councilmember "Jake" Gibbs. The plaque will be installed in the sidewalk at 141 East Main Street. Upon approved installation, ownership of the plaque shall transfer from the Downtown Lexington Management District to Lexington Fayette-Urban County Government. The Downtown Lexington Management District shall Grant, convey, and transfer all its rights and obligations to the plaque to Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, and Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government shall accept all such rights and obligations, including but not limited to providing insurance coverage and maintenance of the plaque. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to accept ownership of the late Councilmember "Jake" Gibbs Memorial Plaque. The Downtown Lexington Management District is purchasing and installing a plaque to commemorate the life and service of late Councilmember "Jake" Gibbs.
