Summary
Authorization to approve an agreement between the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government and the United States Geological Survey for the continued operation and maintenance of existing stream flow and rain gauges. The gauges were installed in 1997 by the USGS, and this agreement will assure necessary maintenance for the period July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016. The USGS will provide complete maintenance and collect all data. The program is ongoing and will require annual funding for proper performance. The cost for FY15 is $116,880.00. Funds are budgeted. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized to execute a Joint Funding Agreement, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, with U.S. Geological Survey, an agency of the United States Department of the Interior, for the operation and maintenance of existing stream flow and rain gauges for the period July 1, 2015, through June 30, 2016.
