Summary
Authorization to approve the 2016 General Term Orders for the Fayette County Sheriff and the Fayette County Clerk. Every year the Urban County Council approves a calendar year General Term Order (GTO) for the Fayette County Clerk and the Fayette County Sheriff. The GTO is basically an authorization form that summarizes maximum annual expenditures for personnel, operating and capital and is used by the Department of Local Government as a guideline for approval of reimbursement of expenditures. The 2016 GTO's need to be approved in order for the expenditures of these offices to be processed by the Department of Local Government. There is no budgetary impact. (L1482-15)(O'Mara)

WHEREAS, KRS 64.350(1) provides that in counties having a population of seventy thousand (70,000) or more, the salaries of the county clerks and sheriffs and of their deputies and all necessary office expenses, including the equipping, furnishing, maintaining, and operation of the offices, shall be paid out of the State Treasury in amounts not to exceed seventy-five percent (75%) of the fees collected by the officers respectively; and
