Authorization to execute Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the United States Marshals Service (USMS), Eastern District of Kentucky (E/KY) authorizing access to radio talk groups assigned to the Lexington Division of Police on the radio system and access to system key as well as the AES Key to enable two-way communications between the agencies. This is a request to execute MOU with the USMS E/KY authorizing access to radio talk groups assigned to the Lexington Division of Police on the radio system and access to system key as well as the AES Key to enable two-way communications between the agencies. This would enhance officer's safety and provide an interoperability capability with Lexington Police that may not be possible after the 800 MHz trunked radio system is fielded. There is no budgetary impact.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized to execute the Memorandum of Understanding, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, with United States Marshals Service, Eastern District of Kentucky, for access to radio systems.
Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
