A Resolution requesting that the Ky. Veterans Hall of Fame designate Lexington a "Ky. Veterans Hall of Fame City"; proclaiming Lexington-Fayette County's support, admiration, and utmost gratitude toward all men and women who have served or are presently serving in the armed forces; directing the Mayor to submit the nomination of at least one military veteran from Lexington-Fayette County annually for induction into the Ky. WHEREAS, the Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame induction ceremony for its 2018 Class will be held in Lexington, Kentucky from September 6, 2018 to September 8, 2018;
WHEREAS, the "Hall of Fame Medallion" is awarded to inductees of the Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame to recognize valorous military service to our country as well as service as civilians to communities across the Commonwealth;
WHEREAS, Lexington-Fayette County supports, admires, and has the utmost gratitude toward all men and women who have served or are presently serving in the Armed Forces; and
WHEREAS, Lexington-Fayette County desires to support the mission of the Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame to honor Kentucky veterans and their families.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council, in preparation for the Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame 2018 induction ceremony, which shall take place in Lexington, Kentucky, formally requests that the Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame designate Lexington a "Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame City."
Section 2 - That the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council hereby proclaims its ongoing support, admiration, and utmost gratitude toward all men and women who have served or are presently serving in the Armed Forces.
