WHEREAS, KRS 64.350(1) provides that in counties having a population of seventy thousand (70,000) or more, the salaries of the county clerks and sheriffs and of their deputies and all necessary office expenses, including the equipping, furnishing, maintaining, and operation of the offices, shall be paid out of the State Treasury in amounts not to exceed seventy-five percent (75%) of the fees collected by the Officers respectively; and
WHEREAS, KRS 64.345(2) and (5) provide that the amount allowed for the necessary office expenses of the County Clerk and Sheriff, respectively, and the number of deputies and assistants allowed to each Officer and the compensation allowed to each deputy and assistant, subject to the limits established in KRS 64.350(1), shall be approved by the legislative body and signed by the executive authority in counties containing an urban-county for...
