Summary
Authorization to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Veterans Affair and the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government. The MOU states that while the FBI retains primary jurisdiction on this federal property, the Division of Police would be the primary response agency in “emergency tactical situations” due to the close proximity and response time of the response team. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute the Memorandum of Understanding, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Veterans Affair, for response to emergency tactical situations on federal property.
Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
