Summary

Authorization to approve the Lexington Police Department Hiring and Training Expense Reimbursement Employment Contract in line with KRS 70.290, which will allow LFUCG to seek reimbursements for the cost of the initial hiring/training of the employee from any Kentucky law enforcement agency that hires a Lexington Police Officer (Current or Separated) within a 5-year period from the date of their academy graduation. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:

                     Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to approve and execute the Training and Expense Reimbursement Contract, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, with new hires for reimbursement of training expenses from any Kentucky Law Enforcement Agency that hires a Lexington Police Officer within a 5-year period from the date of their academy graduation.

                     Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
