Summary
Authorization to accept a donation of a Ford Van and generator purchased by the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (CPAAA). The CPAAA plans to purchase a Ford Van and generator, which will be equipped with a freezer, popcorn machine and video projector, to be utilized by the Lexington Police Department for the “Pops from Cops” program. The van will be utilized at schools, in the neighborhoods and parks, to pass out popcorn and freeze pops, while also playing free movies for families. Once the van is outfitted, it is expected to debut in Spring 2021. The value of this donation is $35,261.50. (L0018-21) (Weathers/Armstrong)

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to accept a donation from the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association of a Ford Van and generator, for use at the Division of Police, at no cost to the Urban County Government.
Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
