Summary
Authorization to execute an agreement between the LFUCG and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) State & Local Task Force, Appendix D & Certifications. The term of this agreement shall be from September 30, 2015 through September 29, 2016.This agreement allows the continuation of the DEA State & Local Task Force, in which the Lexington Division of Police has two (2) assigned detectives. The duties of the task force are to disrupt the illicit drug traffic in the Kentucky area by immobilizing targeted violators and trafficking organizations, gather and report intelligence data relating to trafficking in narcotics and dangerous drugs, and conduct undercover operations where appropriate and engage in other traditional methods of investigation in order that the Task Force's activities will result in effective prosecution before the courts of the United States and the State of Kentucky. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized to execute an Agreement, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, with the Drug Enforcement Administration, for continuation of the State and Local Task Force.
Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
