Summary

Authorization to accept a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), for the ATF and Lexington Police Department Violent Crimes Task Force to investigate persons who violate Federal Firearms and explosives laws as well as persons who use, carry or possess Firearms or destructive devices in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime or a crime of violence. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:

                     Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute the Memorandum of Understanding, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, with Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, for joint investigations.

                     Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
