Authorization to execute a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) which describes the conditions under which academic credit for a specific course offered by EKU will be awarded for members of the Lexington Division of Police ("LDP") at a mutually agreed-upon cohort tuition rate and to assign responsibilities of the parties. This is a request to execute a MOA with EKU which describes the conditions under which academic credit for a specific course offered by EKU will be awarded for members of the LDP at a mutually agreed-upon cohort tuition rate and to assign responsibilities of the parties. The tuition rate is $32,000 for up to 100 students enrolled in PLS330, Police Studies, with the first class to be delivered in the Spring of 2014. Funds are budgeted.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized to execute the Memorandum of Agreement, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, with Eastern Kentucky University, for academic credit for a specific course offered by EKU.
Section 2 - That an amount, not to exceed the sum of $32,000.00, be and hereby is approved for payment to Eastern Kentucky University, from account # 1131-505501-74101, pursuant to the terms of the Agreement....
