Summary
Authorization to sign Agreement with the Internal Revenue Service, for the provision of Volunteer Income Tax Assistance/Tax Counseling for the Elderly (VITA/TCE) program. This program provides free tax preparation and filing to low-to-moderate income citizens in Fayette County. The United Way of the Bluegrass is the statewide administrator of the VITA/TCE program. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance/Tax Counseling for the Elderly (VITA/TCE) Partner Sponsor Agreement and the Internal Revenue Service Civil Rights Assurance, which are attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, and any related documents, for the provision of the 2022 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program at the Charles Young Center, at no cost to the Urban County Government.
Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
