An Ordinance pursuant to Sections 3.02(24) and 6.12 of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Charter amending the authorized strength by abolishing the following Classified Civil Service Positions: one (1) position of Computer Systems Manager, Grade 524E, and two (2) positions of Technical Specialist, Grade 515N, in the Div. of Community Corrections; and creating the following Classified Civil Service Positions: one (1) position of Computer Systems Manager, Grade 524E, and two (2) positions of Technical Specialist, Grade 515N, in the Div. of Computer Services, and transferring the incumbents at their current job classification, pay grade and salary, from the Div. of Community Corrections to the Div. of Computer Services, appropriating funds pursuant to Schedule No. 60, effective upon passage of Council. Summary
Authorization to transfer one (1) classified position of Computer Systems Manager (Grade 524E) and two (2) classified positions of Technical Specialist (Grade 515N) and their incumbents from the Division of Community Corrections to the Division of Computer Services, effective upon passage of Council. This action is being requested to give better access and resources to Computer Services. It will also provide back up to the various computer based programs and services. WHEREAS, Section 3.02 of the Charter of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government provides that the Council shall have the power to "create, alter, or abolish departments . . . and to confer upon same necessary and appropriate authority for carrying out all powers and duties assigned thereto;" and
WHEREAS, Section 6.12 of the Charter of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government provides that the Council shall have the power to "consolidate, divide, and otherwise restructure the organization of all departments, offices and divisions covered by Article 6 of the Charter"; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that effective and efficient operation of government will occur by transferring certain positions from the Division of Community Corrections to the Division of Computer Services.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 -That subsection line numbers 540.018 and 540.055 in the classified civil service authorized strength be and hereby are deleted from the Division of Community Corrections.
Section 2 - That the following subsection line number in the classified civil service authorized strength be and hereby is created in the Division of Computer Services to read as follows:
250.012 1 379 524E Computer Systems Manager
Section 3 - That the following subsection line number in the classified civil service authorized strength be and hereby is amended in the Division of Computer Services to read as follows:
250.047 9 364 515N Technical Specialist
A. That James Gray, Chris Arth, and Frank Cole be and hereby are transferred at their current pay grade, job classification, and salary from the Division of Community Corrections to the Division of Computer Services.
Section 4 - That this Ordinance shall become effective upon passage of Council.
