                     BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:

                     Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute and submit the Eight  (8) Grant Applications, which are attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, to the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security and to provide any additional information requested in connection with these Grant Applications, which Grant funds are in the amount of $477,510.00 Federal funds under the 2016 State Homeland Security Grant Program, and are for the purchase of technical search training ($24,200.00), technical search equipment ($36,260.00), mass casualty incident equipment ($40,800.00) and software upgrades for existing equipment ($12,600.00) for the Division of Fire and Emergency Services; the purchase of heavy duty satellite emergency communications trailer ($112,000.00) for the Division of Emergency Management/E911; and the purchase of advanced explosive device mitigation training and equipment ($60,000.00), Hazardous Devices Unit equipment ($55,400.00), and a searchlight and aviator night vision imaging system for the Air Support Unit ($136,250.00) for the Division of Police.

Section 2 - For the purpose of any KOHS funded projects using FY-2016 funds the city will use the provisions of KRS 45A for the purchase of equipment and/or services.  For any equipment and/or services under $20,000 three (3) quotes will be obtained.  For any equipment and/or services that exceeds $20,000 the provisions of KRS 45A will apply.

                     Section 3- That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
