A Resolution declaring a moratorium on all applications for building permits, for properties located along the north side of the Versailles Rd. corridor, from Halls Lane to Oxford Circle, more specifically defined as the following properties: 1411-1907 Versailles Rd. (odd numbered), and for properties located along the south side of the Versailles Rd. Corridor, more specifically defined as the following properties: 1410 to 1824 Versailles Rd. (even numbered); to allow the Planning Commission and the Urban County Government sufficient time to consider the development needs of the Versailles Rd. Body

WHEREAS, a moratorium on the application, processing, and issuance of all building permits in the defined area is necessary and appropriate to allow the Planning Commission and the Urban County Council sufficient time to consider the development needs of the Versailles Road Corridor area based on the Cardinal Valley Small Area Plan and the Oxford Circle Redevelopment Feasibility Study.

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:

                     Section 1 - That a moratorium is hereby declared on properties located along the north side of the Versailles Road Corridor, from Halls Lane to Oxford Circle, more specifically defined as the following properties: 1411 to 1907 Versailles Road (odd numbered) and for properties located along the south side of the Versailles Road Corridor, more specifically defined as the following properties: 1410 to 1824 Versailles Road (even numbered) (the “Subject Properties”); that the moratorium is imposed on the application, processing, and issuance of building permits.

                     Section 2 - That the Division of Building Inspection is directed to refuse to accept or process applications for any building permits or to issue any building permits for the Subject Properties for the duration of the moratorium. 

                     Section 3 - That the purpose of this moratorium is hereby established to allow the Planning Commission and Urban County Government sufficient time to consider the development needs of the Versailles Road Corridor area based on the Cardinal Valley Small Area Plan and the Oxford Circle Redevelopment Feasibility Study.

                     Section 4 - That the duration of the moratorium is hereby set from February 1, 2017 through August 31, 2017.

                     Section 5 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
