Summary
Authorization to execute Agreement with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet for improvements to Winchester Road intersection at East Seventh/Liberty Road in the amount of $9,600 for the Design and Right-of-Way phases under the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP). This project includes improvements to the signalized intersections of both East Seventh Street and Liberty Road and will slightly modify the Liberty Road approach and provide a pedestrian bulb-out on the northeast and southeast corners, making these intersections into safer, more efficient, and more useful community assets for pedestrians, transit riders, and vehicles. Once design is completed, an amendment will be offered, providing construction funds. A match of $2,400 is required. Budget amendments are in process. (L1593-15)(Gooding/Hoskins-Squier)

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute the Agreement, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, for the acceptance of funds in the amount of $9,600.00, for the Design and Right-of-Way phases for the Improvements to the Winchester Road Intersection at East Seventh/Liberty Road under the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP), the acceptance of which obligates the Urban County Government for the expenditure of funds in the amount of $2,400.00 as a local match.
Section 2 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
