Summary

Authorization to abolish and create positions in order to conform with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and transfer the incumbents from exempt to non-exempt status, effective the first payroll Monday following passage of Council. The Division of Human Resources has determined that the following classifications and the incumbents will change from exempt to non-exempt status: Maintenance Supervisor (Grade 519E to Grade 519N) and Pump Station Supervisor (Grade 520E to Grade 520N). While the base salaries remain the same, there May be a potential fiscal impact due to the fact that these employees will become eligible for overtime pay. (L0298-23) (Walters/Hamilton)

                     Section 1 - That the following subSection line numbers in the Classified Civil Service authorized strength be and hereby is amended to read as follows:

                     340.055                     2                     774                     519N                                          Maintenance Supervisor

 

                     340.060                     1                     777                     520N                                          Pump Station Supervisor

 

                     Section 2 - That the incumbents to the position be and hereby are transferred from an exempt to non-exempt position as follows:

Michael Foster, from Maintenance Supervisor, Grade 519E, at $2,566.00 biweekly, to Maintenance Supervisor, Grade 519N, at $32.075 hourly.

 

John Pennington, from Maintenance Supervisor, Grade 519E, at $2,562.64 biweekly, to Maintenance Supervisor, Grade 519N, at $32.033 hourly.

 

Chris Dove, from Pump Station Supervisor, Grade 520E, at $2,621.60 biweekly, to Pump Station Supervisor, Grade 520N, at $32.770 hourly.

 

                     Section 3 - That this Ordinance shall become effective the first payroll Monday following passage of Council.
