Title

An Ordinance amending Section 21-32(e) and Section 21-32(f) of the Code of Ordinances relating to tool maintenance allowances for certain job classifications to update outdated classifications and to increase the tool maintenance allowance amounts to align with current practice, at no additional fiscal impact to the Urban County Government; effective upon passage of Council. [Div. of Human Resources, Maxwell]

 

Summary

Authorization to update section 21-32 of the Code of Ordinances as follows:

Amend Section 21-32(e) - Any permanent Classified Civil Service employee holding the position of Heavy Equipment Technician or Vehicle and Equipment Technician is specifically required by his supervisor to provide the tools necessary to perform the duties of the above-listed positions shall receive a tool maintenance allowance of six hundred dollars ($600.00) at the beginning of each fiscal year.

Amend Section 21-32(f) - Any permanent Classified Civil Service employee holding the position of Vehicle and Equipment Mechanic-Apprentice or Heavy Equipment Mechanic-Apprentice who is specifically required by his supervisor to provide the tools necessary to perform the duties of the above-listed positions shall receive a tool maintenance allowance of three hundred dollars ($300.00) at the beginning of each fiscal year.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:

                     Section 1 - That Section 21-32(e) of the Code of Ordinances, Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is amended to read as follows:

(e)                     Any permanent classified civil service employee holding the position of Heavy Equipment Technician or Vehicle and Equipment Technician who is specifically required by his supervisor to provide the tools necessary to perform the duties of the above-listed positions shall receive a tool maintenance allowance of six hundred dollars ($600.00) at the beginning of each fiscal year. 96.

                     Section 2 - That Section 21-32(f) of the Code of Ordinances, Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is amended to read as follows:

(f)                     Any permanent classified civil service employee holding the position of Vehicle and Equipment Mechanic-Apprentice or Heavy Equipment Mechanic-Apprentice who is specifically required by his supervisor to provide the tools necessary to perform the duties of the above-listed positions shall receive a tool maintenance allowance of three hundred dollars ($300.00) at the beginning of each fiscal year.

                     Section 3 - That, as the increases provided in this Ordinance align with current practice, this Ordinance shall have no additional fiscal impact to the budgets of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government.                     
                     Section 4 - That this Ordinance shall become effective on the date of its passage.
