Body
WHEREAS, Lexington-Fayette County (“Lexington”) desires to promote and carry out community development efforts on behalf of the residents of the Lexington by supporting the HB 1 Project; and
WHEREAS, it is recognized that HB 1 monies available to Lexington for the purposes stated herein, pursuant to 2024 Kentucky General Assembly HB 1 (Appropriations Bill), impose certain obligations and responsibilities upon Lexington and will require among other things:
(1) Approval of a satisfactory application transmitted to DLG for approval;
(2) Registration with Finance & Administration Cabinet to do business with the Commonwealth; and,
(3) Other obligations of Lexington in connection with receiving the HB 1 grant of monies for the purposes stated herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute and submit a HB 1 Project Grant Application, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, and any related documents on behalf of Lexington for HB 1 monies up to $10,000,000.00 for Lexington’s Transformational Housing Affordability Partnership (“Project”), and to accept this Grant, if awarded.
Section 2 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute and submit any such additional information and furnish such documentation as may be required, and that the Mayor shall act as the authorized correspondent for this Project.
Section 3 - That subject to the provisions of Section 7-48 of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Code of Ordinances, the Mayor is hereby authorized, in her discretion as Chief Executive Officer of the Urban County Government, to transfer the unencumbered balance of any operating or capital account appropriation to another operating or capital account appropriation within the Grant Budget previously established for this Grant.
Section 4 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
