Title
An Ordinance pursuant to Sections 3.02(24) and 6.12 of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Charter amending the authorized strength by abolishing the following Classified Civil Service Positions: one (1) position of Administrative Officer, Grade 523E, one (1) position of Security Supervisor, Grade 514N, and twelve (12) positions of Security Officer, Grade 507N, in the Div. of Facilities and Fleet Management, and creating the following Classified Civil Service Positions: one (1) position of Administrative Officer, Grade 523E, one (1) position of Security Supervisor, Grade 514N, and twelve (12) positions of Security Officer, Grade 507N, in the Dept. of Public Safety; abolishing the following Unclassified Civil Service Position: one (1) position of Security Officer P/T, Grade 507N, in Div. of Facilities and Fleet Management, and creating the following Unclassified Civil Service Position: one (1) position of Security Officer P/T, Grade 507N, in the Dept. of Public Safety, and transferring the incumbents at their current job classification, pay grade and salary, from the Div. of Facilities and Fleet Management to the Dept. of Public Safety, effective July 1, 2015.
Body
WHEREAS, Section 3.02 of the Charter of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government provides that the Council shall have the power to "create, alter, or abolish departments . . . and to confer upon same necessary and appropriate authority for carrying out all powers and duties assigned thereto;" and
WHEREAS, Section 6.12 of the Charter of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government provides that the Council shall have the power to "consolidate, divide, and otherwise restructure the organization of all departments, offices and divisions covered by Article 6 of the Charter"; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that effective and efficient operation of government will occur by transferring the Division of Facilities and Fleet Management to the Department of Public Safety.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Division of Facilities and Fleet Management and all authorized incumbents be and hereby are transferred from the Division of Facilities and Fleet Management to the Department of Public Safety.
Section 2 -That subsection line numbers 720.067, 720.110 in the classified civil service authorized strength be and hereby are deleted from the Division of Facilities and Fleet Management.
Section 3 - That the following subsection line number of the classified civil
service authorized strength be and hereby is amended to read as follows:
720.020 1 112 523E Administrative Officer
Section 4 - That the following subsection line numbers of the classified civil service authorized strength from the Department of Public Safety be and hereby are created to read as follows:
510.015 2 112 523E Administrative Officer
510.022 1 676 514N Security Supervisor
510.030 12 677 507N Security Officer
Section 5 - That subsection line number 720.020 of the unclassified civil service authorized strength from the Division of Facilities and Fleet Management be and hereby is deleted.
Section 6 - That the following subsection line number of the unclassified civil service authorized strength from the Department of Public Safety be and hereby is created to read as follows:
510.015 1 675 507N Security Officer
Section 7 - That the following employees be and hereby are transferred as follows:
A. That David Pugh, Jeffrey Marshall, Gwen Walters, Richard Henry, Stanley Smith, Franz Widy, Garnett Mundy, Donald Dunaway Jr., Arthur Lefevers, Jeffrey Gearding, Charles Napier, Thomas Thompson, and Eric Reid be and hereby are transferred at their current pay grade, job classification, and salary from the Division of Facilities and Fleet Management to the Department of Public Safety.
Section 8 - That this Ordinance shall become effective July 1, 2014.
