WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2.03 of the Charter of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, Resolution No. 498-2024 was enacted by the Urban County Council on October 10, 2024, specifying the intention of the Urban County Government to expand and extend the Full Urban Services District #1; and

                     WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2.03 of the Charter of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, Resolution No. 498-2024 was published in the Lexington Herald-Leader; and

                     WHEREAS, pursuant to KRS 67A.860, certified letters were mailed to property owners to be affected by the expansion and extension of the Full Urban Services District #1, informing them of the proposed expansion and extension and the time and place of a public hearing; and

                     WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2.03 of the Charter of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government and KRS 67A.860, a public hearing was held on November 12, 2024, to inform and receive the views of all interested persons concerning the expansion and extension of the Full Urban Services District #1.

NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.03 OF THE CHARTER OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT AND KRS 67A.150, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:

                     Section 1 - That the Full Urban Services District #1 for the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, for the provision of street lighting, street cleaning, and garbage and refuse collection, be and hereby is expanded and extended to include an area defined as the following properties, lots, tracts, and parcels of land within the Full Urban Services District #1:

Section 2 - That the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government will provide the full urban services of street lighting, street cleaning, and garbage and refuse collection in order to provide well-lit, safe streets to deter crime and contribute to traffic safety, to provide clean, safe streets contributing to traffic safety, and to provide for the orderly removal of garbage and refuse from residences and commercial establishments on a timely basis to the area defined as the properties, lots, tracts, and parcels of land listed in Section 1 above, on or before the effective date of this Ordinance.

Section 3 - That this Ordinance shall become effective on July 1, 2025.
