Summary
Authorization to abolish two (2) unclassified positions of Deputy Coroner (Grade 515N), and create two (2) unclassified positions of Chief Deputy Coroner (Grade 517N); reclassifying the incumbents within the Coroner's Office, effective upon passage of Council. Upon the request of the Coroner's Office, and in accordance with Section 22-2 (4) of the Code of Ordinances, the Division of Human Resources conducted a reclassification study on the requested positions of Deputy Coroner held by Albert Beatty and Michael Durbin within the Coroner's Office. The positions were analyzed by staff using the whole job rank and factor comparison methods. The outcome is a recommended change in pay grade as described in this action. The fiscal impact for FY2015 (2 pay periods) will be a cost of $1,372.00 including benefits. Funds are budgeted for FY15. (L0624-15)(Maxwell/Hamilton)

Section 1 - That the following subsection line numbers in the unclassified civil service authorized strength be and hereby are amended to read as follows:
169.020 3 051 515N Deputy Coroner
169.017 3 053 517N Chief Deputy Coroner
Section 2 - That the incumbent, Albert Beatty, be and hereby is reclassified from Deputy Coroner, Grade 515N to Chief Deputy Coroner, Grade 517N, at $20.033 hourly.
Section 3 - That the incumbent, Michael Durbin, be and hereby is reclassified from Deputy Coroner, Grade 515N to Chief Deputy Coroner, Grade 517N, at $20.033 hourly.
Section 4 - That certain of the Budgets of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government are amended and funds are appropriated pursuant to Budget Schedule No. 0066, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
Section 5 - That this Ordinance shall become effective upon date of passage.
