BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:

                     Section 1 - That Section 2-296 of the Code of Ordinances, Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is amended to read as follows:

                     Sec. 2-296. - Members.

                     The sister cities Programs commission shall consist of seven (7) voting members. Four (4) of the members shall be at-large members. Three (3) of the members shall be ex-officio, and shall consist of:

 

(a)                     Visitlex President or designee;

(b)                     Councilmember;

(c)                     Representative from the Mayor’s office

                     All members shall be appointed by the Mayor and subject to confirmation by a majority of the Council members as outlined in Section 7.02 of the Charter. The terms of office of the commission shall be four (4) years from the date of appointment, provided the terms of those originally appointed shall be staggered in the following manner: Two (2) members shall be appointed for two (2) years, and two (2) members shall be appointed for four (4) years.  Ex officio members shall be deemed to have terminated upon their leaving office as Officers of their respective organization. Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired term in the manner prescribed for the original appointment.

 

                     Section 2 - That Section 2-297 of the Code of Ordinances, Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is amended to read as follows:

                     Sec. 2-297. - Offices.

                     The offices of the sister cities Programs commission shall consist of a chairperson and a vice-chairperson, and other Officers elected by the commission. Their duties shall be as implied by their respective titles and as May be specified in the bylaws. The commission shall determine its own rules and order of business and shall provide for keeping a record of its own proceedings.

 

                     Section 3 - That this Ordinance shall become effective on the date of its passage.
