Summary
Authorization to establish a new administrative division to be titled: Division of Aging and Disability Services in the Department of Social Services.  While we request to establish the division upon Council approval and plan to operate accordingly, the full reorganization (including moving the funding for the incumbents) will be effective July 1, 2015. WHEREAS, Section 3.02(24) of the Charter of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government provides that the Council shall have the power to "create, alter or abolish departments . . . and to confer upon same necessary and appropriate authority for carrying out all powers and duties assigned thereto;"
      WHEREAS, Section 6.12 of the Charter of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government provides that the Council shall have the power to "consolidate, divide, and otherwise restructure the organization of all departments, offices and divisions covered by Article 6 of the Charter.
      NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Division of Aging Services be and hereby is created.
Section 2 - That subsection line numbers 610.005, 610.042, and 610.055 in the classified civil service authorized strength be and hereby are deleted.
Section 3 -      That the following subsection line numbers of the classified civil service authorized strength be and hereby are created to read as follows:
      615.010      1      542      527E           Director of Aging Services
      615.030      1      515      516E           Social Worker Sr.
      615.040       1      104      510N           Staff Assistant Sr.
      Section 4 - That subsection line numbers 610.025, 610.052, 610.032, 610.050, 610.065, and 610.060 in the unclassified civil service be and hereby are deleted.
      Section 5 - That the following subsection line numbers of the unclassified civil service authorized strength be and hereby are created to read as follows:

Section 6 - That all the incumbents be and hereby are transferred at their current job classification, pay grade and salary.
