A Resolution authorizing the Mayor and Council Members to sign a letter to be sent to the Bluegrass Area Development District (BGADD) expressing concerns about the program planned by BGADD for the property located at 1393 Trent Blvd.; directing that the letter, along with a petition signed by concerned citizens, be sent to BGADD, the Bluegrass Workforce Investment Board, the Ky. Workforce Investment Board, the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House; and requesting that BGADD enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Urban County Government related to operation of the program. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and Council Members to sign a letter, which is attached hereto, to be sent to the Bluegrass Area Development District (BGADD) expressing concerns about the program planned by BGADD for the property located at 1393 Trent Boulevard.
Section 2 - That the Clerk of the Urban County Council is directed to deliver a copy of the letter and this resolution, along with a petition signed by concerned citizens, to the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Bluegrass Area Development District, the Bluegrass Workforce Investment Board, the Kentucky Workforce Investment Board, the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House. Further, the Council hereby requests that the President and Speaker send copies of same to the Chairs of appropriate legislative committees for their review of the proper scope of area development district activities.
Section 3 - That the Urban County Council hereby requests that the Bluegrass Area Development District enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Urban County Government related to operation of the program proposed by BGADD.
Section 4 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
