The Department of Environmental Quality and Public Works has budgeted funds to establish the Sustainability Grant program to encourage residents to work collaboratively and creatively to find ways to improve the environmental health of our neighborhoods.
The Division of Environmental Policy has received and reviewed applications for Fiscal Year 2014 and recommends award of (15) Sustainability Grants as listed in the following table.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE LEXINGTON-FAYETTE URBAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT:
Section 1 - That the Mayor, on behalf of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, be and hereby is authorized to execute the agreements, which are attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, awarding Neighborhood Community and Sustainability Grants to Bluegrass Youth Sustainability Council, Dove Creek Townhome Owner's Association, Fairway Neighborhood Association, Fayette Co-Op Preschool, Georgetown Street Neighborhood Association, Lansdowne Elementary, Lexington Fashion Collaborative, Living Arts and Science Center, North Limestone Neighborhood Association, Neighbors of Montclair, North Lexington YMCA, The Arboretum, Transylvania Park Neighborhood Association, University of Kentucky Research Foundation, and Wellington Elementary School.
Section 2 - That an amount, not to exceed the sums stated, be and hereby is approved for payment to Bluegrass Youth Sustainability Council ($2,500), Dove Creek Townhome Owner's Association ($2,500), Fairway Neighborhood Association ($1,413), Fayette Co-Op Preschool ($1,671), Georgetown Street Neighborhood Association ($2,500), Lansdowne Elementary ($1,413), Lexington Fashion Collaborative ($1,000), Living Arts and Science Center ($2,500), North Limestone Neighborhood Association ($2,500), Neighbors of Montclair ($1,413), North Lexington YMCA ($2,500), The Arboretum ($850), Transylvania Park Neighborhood Association ($2,500), University of Kentucky Research Foundation ($2,500), and Wellington Elementary School ($2,500), from account #1115-313201-78112, pursuant to the terms of the agreements.
Section 3 - That this Resolution shall become effective on the date of its passage.
